Neuropsychological Testing in Wichita

In-depth Understanding of Brain Function

When symptoms suggest cognitive or memory challenges, neuropsychological testing provides answers. These assessments help uncover how brain health affects daily life. At Adult Mental Health, our board-certified neuropsychologists use advanced, evidence-based tools to evaluate thinking, memory and problem-solving abilities.

What is neuropsychological testing?

Neuropsychological testing measures brain-based abilities, including:

  • Memory and learning
  • Attention and focus
  • Problem-solving and reasoning
  • Language and communication
  • Visual-spatial skills
  • Emotional functioning

Neuropsychological testing is especially valuable for adults with:

  • Memory loss or dementia concerns
  • Head injury or concussion
  • Stroke or neurological illness
  • ADHD or learning disorders
  • Mood disorders with cognitive symptoms

How the neuropsychological testing process works:

Clinical Interview

Meet with a neuropsychologist to discuss symptoms, daily functioning, medical history and goals.

Testing Sessions

Complete standardized tasks that assess attention/focus, memory, problem-solving, language and related skills. Testing may happen over multiple appointments.

Scoring & Interpretation

Your clinician will analyze your results in conjunction with your medical history and records to clarify diagnoses and provide practical implications for everyday life.

Feedback Visit

We review the results, explain their meaning, answer questions and outline recommendations (such as therapy, medical follow-up and workplace/school strategies).

Written Report & Coordination

You receive a clear summary and plan. With your consent, we can share findings with your referring provider and care team and arrange any follow-up.
